Yamal-601 control transferred to Gazprom Space Systems
On July 19th, Thales Alenia Space completely transferred control of the Yamal-601 satellite to the operational divisions of Gazprom Space Systems.

Gazprom Space Systems demonstrated new abilities in satellite TV broadcasting and broadband access services provision
From January 28 till 30, 2014 the exhibition-forum CSTB-2014 took place in the Moscow exhibition centre Crocus Expo. It is the key professional annual media event, which covers all relevant directions of TV and telecommunication technologies. Gazprom Space Systems demonstrated new abilities which entered the Russian market thanks to Yamal-300K and Yamal-402 satellites. Footprints and power characteristics of new satellite capacity are optimal for promoting satellite TV broadcasting and broadband services in Russia.

International Launch Services announces contract with Gazprom Space Systems for the ILS Proton Launch of Yamal 601
Wednesday, January 22, 2014, RESTON, VA-International Launch Services (ILS) announced the contract for the ILS Proton launch of the Yamal 601 satellite for Gazprom Space Systems (Russia). Gazprom is the parent company of Gazprom Space Systems and is the world’s largest producer of natural gas. The launch of the satellite is scheduled for 2016.

Thales Alenia Space to build Yamal-601 satellite for Gazprom Space Systems
Moscow, January 22, 2014 – Thales Alenia Space announced today that it has signed a contract with Russian operator Gazprom Space Systems (GSS) to build the Yamal-601 telecommunications satellite, which will provide fixed communications, broadcast and Internet access services. Thales Alenia Space won the contract from Gazprom in competitive international bidding.

Gazprom Space Systems: New Offerings for the International Market
In a two-month span at the end of 2012, Russian satellite operator Gazprom Space Systems (GSS) launched two new satellites, Yamal 300K and Yamal 402. With these two new additions to their fleet, GSS has effectively increased by 2.5 times its current total satellite transponder capacity.

Russian Beams to Africa
Having launched two more advanced Yamal satellites at the end of last year, Gazprom Space Systems OJSC (GSS) now expects a nearly 50 % boost to its revenues in 2013. The company sees a lot of business potential in Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. GSS CEO Dmitry SEVASTIYANOV told Standard’s correspondent Dmitry PETROVSKY about the domestic and international business opportunities being eyed by GSS.
