Gazprom Space Systems (GSS) is an international satellite operator that owns Yamal satellites and provides satellite capacity in Russia and on the international market.

Yamal-401 connected Tokyo and Istanbul

Yamal-401 satellite with its unique wide and powerful footprints made it possible to connect Tokyo and Istanbul (about 9 000 kilometers direct line). The satellite channel was implemented by Turkish News Agency NewTR for covering the visit of the King of Saudi Arabia to Japan.

According to Trade & Forfaiting Review the deal on attracting by Gazprom Space Systems the long-term credits of €467 million sum-total to finance Yamal-400 project was named as the Deal of the Year 2010.
