ISS-Reshetnev goes on with Yamal-300K

Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems is busy manufacturing the Yamal-300K spacecraft for Gazprom Space Systems’ orbital fleet.

In accordance with the contract signed between ISS-Reshetnev and Gazprom Space Systems for the manufacture of the Yamal-300K telecommunications satellite, the Reshetnev Company is responsible for the design, development, manufacture and testing of the spacecraft as well as its pre-launch preparations and in-orbit commissioning. The contract also calls for the Reshetnev Company to provide a ground control segment.

At present ISS-Reshetnev is manufacturing heat pipes for the new spacecraft. A total of 130 heat pipes will be installed onboard YAMAL-300K after rigorous testing.

As well as the manufacturing of heat pipes, there is parallel work going on the development of antenna-feeder devices. So far, the company has manufactured feeder models and tested antennas and devices intended for the TCR equipment.

The Yamal-300K spacecraft is based on ISS-Reshetnev’s Express-1000H unpressurized medium-class platform. It has been designed to operate for as long as 14 years to provide services to Russia and CIS countries.
