From February 7 till 9, 2012 the exhibition-forum CSTB-2012 was held in the Moscow exhibition center Crocus Expo. Gazprom Space Systems presented its exposition and took part in the conference.

CSTB is the key professional annual event in sphere of TV broadcasting and covers all actual directions of TV and telecommunication technologies: cable TV, satellite communication and broadcasting, IPTV, digital terrestrial TV and broadband access. This year about 450 key international and Russian companies took part in the exhibition-forum, and among them there were satellite operators, multiservice network operators, equipment manufacturers and distributors, system integrators and content aggregators. All of them showed their abilities and last developments.

Gazprom Space Systems demonstrated the company’s abilities in satellite TV/radio broadcasting and broadband services provision. This year these capabilities will be expanded significantly thanks to the launch of the new satellites Yamal-300K and Yamal-402 and the company’s ground infrastructure development.

Dmitriy Sevastiyanov, Director General of Gazprom Space Systems, spoke at the forum section Development of the Satellite Constellations of the Russian and International Operators.

In his report Dmitriy Sevastiyanov told about the results of the last year company’s activity and about the progress of implementation of the large investment program to replenish and develop Gazprom Space Systems’ orbital constellation.

Dmitriy Sevastiyanov noted that in the year passed the company made a deep upgrade of the three key satellite networks operated for the benefit of Gazprom and constructed at the end of 90s — beginning of 2000s. Within the framework of these works all the facilities of the company’s Moscow teleport were moved to the two teleports located in Dolgoe-Ledovo and Schelkovo, Moscow region.

Last year on the territory of the new telecommunication center in Schelkovo a number of facilities, including production and administrative buildings, central satellite telecommunication stations of C and Ku-band to operate new satellites were constructed, and also hub of Hughes Network Systems was put into operation.

«Regarding TV, some digital packages of the first DTT multiplex programs started broadcasting via our Yamal satellites. For the company it is a great honor to take part in the implementation of the Russian Federation Federal Target Program Development of TV and Radio Broadcasting» — Dmitriy Sevastiyanov sad.

In his report the company’s Director General also reminded that last year while waiting for the launch of the new satellites Gazprom Space Systems found a solution decreasing the lack of capacity in Russia to some extent and allowing the company to start business at the 55E orbital position before Yamal-402 launch. ASTRA 1F satellite was temporary relocated to this orbital position under the agreement with SES. Gazprom Space Systems has exclusive rights on using all available capacity of this satellite.

For the clients the attractiveness of this project lies in the continuity of networks deployed on ASTRA 1F capacity, with Yamal-402 capacity. Herewith the clients will get the priority in using Yamal-402 capacity that will have three times wider service zone with the same power parameters. The project is commercially viable — now almost all the ASTRA 1F capacity is contracted.

Speaking about the company’s plans, Dmitriy Sevastiyanov told that in 2012 two satellites will be launched. Yamal-300K is the first in turn. It will be located at the 90E orbital position to support the current Yamal-201 satellite and significantly increase the volume of satellite capacity for the Russian market. The second satellite, Yamal-402, will be launched in October and located at the 55E orbital position. In January both satellites were assembled and the preparation for the final ground tests was started.
