New Turkmen TV channel has been launched via Yamal-201 satellite

24-hour TV channel Turkmen ovazy (Turkmen melodies) has started broadcasting via Yamal-201 satellite of the Russian satellite operator Gazprom Space Systems.

24-hour TV channel Turkmen ovazy (Turkmen melodies) has started broadcasting via Yamal-201 satellite of the Russian satellite operator Gazprom Space Systems.

The channel is created to introduce the best musical composition of the Turkmen people, to make the world public familiar with Turkmenistan achievements, to promote the national culture and art development.

The new channel broadcasting parameters:

orbital position 90°E
frequency 3623 MHz
symbol rate 4.285 Mbit/s
FEC 3/4+RS
modulation QPSK
polarization - left.

This is already the 5th Turkmen channel broadcasted via Yamal-201 satellite. It was added to the 24-hour tourist channel Turkmenistan broadcasted in six languages and to the three national TV channels Altyn Asyr (Golden age), Yashlyk (Youth) and Miras (Heritage).

Note:

Yamal-201 in 90° E orbital position  perfectly suits to service the territory of Russia and CIS countries.

The cooperation of Gazprom Space Systems (former Gascom) and the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan started as early as 2000 when four Turkmen channels were uplinked on Yamal-100 satellite.
