New Kazakhstan Governmental TV Channel for Children Appeared on Yamal-201

The longtime cooperation between Gazprom Space Systems (GSS) and Kazakhstan telecommunication company Jarykh got new development – September 21, 2010 one more TV channel «Balapan» was launched onto Yamal-201 90E board. In Kazakh language it means «Baby».

The longtime cooperation between Gazprom Space Systems (GSS) and Kazakhstan telecommunication company Jarykh got new development – September 21, 2010 one more TV channel «Balapan» was launched onto Yamal-201 90E board. In Kazakh language it means «Baby».

It is governmental channel for children, the creation of which was approved by the Kazakhstan President Decree within the framework of Kazakhstan Republic Strategic Development Plan till 2020. The main aim of the channel is to provide small children with preschool education and training to develop stable world-view, language and knowledge. It is the first channel for children in the history of Kazakhstan television. The program will be broadcast in Kazakh.

Now four Kazakhstan TV channels have been broadcast via Yamal-201, among which there are two governmental ones «Astana» and «Balapan» and private entertainment channels «Hit TV» and «Nau TV». The companies expect to extend their cooperation with the future Yamal satellites under construction. 


Gazprom Space Systems is one of the two Russian national satellite operators and is part of a group of about fifty satellite operators existing in the world
