Gazprom Space Systems and Jarykh, Kazakhstan Telecommunication Company, Expand Their Cooperation

Jarykh and Gazprom Space Systems arranged on-line satellite broadcasting of the box fighting between the World Boxing Association’s (WBA) middleweight champion Gennadiy Golovkin, Kazakhstan, and Nilson Tapia, Columbia, which was held in Astana on December 16, the Independence Day of Kazakhstan.

Jarykh and Gazprom Space Systems arranged on-line satellite broadcasting of the box fighting between the World Boxing Association’s (WBA) middleweight champion Gennadiy Golovkin, Kazakhstan, and Nilson Tapia, Columbia, which was held in Astana on December 16, the Independence Day of Kazakhstan.

For this live broadcasting the Ku-band capacity of Yamal-201 satellite, located at the 90°E orbital position, was used.

This project is a new facet of the cooperation between the companies. Jarykh has been broadcasting four Kazakhstan TV channels via Yamal-201 satellite. Among them there are two governmental channels – Astana and Balapan.


Gazprom Space Systems is one of the two Russian national satellite operators and is part of a group of about fifty satellite operators existing in the world
