Gazprom Space Systems (GSS) is announcing about the entering upon capacity and services provision on ASTRA 1F satellite and starting the sales of Yamal-402 satellite capacity.

According to the agreement with the global satellite operator SES, ASTRA 1F satellite was placed into GSS’ 55E orbital position on August 30, 2011. ASTRA 1F will be operated at this position till the start of Yamal-402 satellite operation, which will be launched to this position in October 2012.

Gazprom Space Systems has exclusive rights on using of all the available satellite capacity on ASTRA 1F (16 transponders per 26 MHz each, Ku-FSS band).

ASTRA 1F service zone is the European part of Russia and Western Siberia.

ASTRA 1F beam has high power; it is more than 52 dBW in the center. That allows to provide all possible types of services, including SD and HD DTH, broadband services, etc.

The attraction of this project for the Russian providers of satellite telecommunication services consists in ensuring the continuity of networks, deployed on the basis of ASTRA 1F capacity, with Yamal-402 capacity. Herewith, providers, which started providing services on ASTRA 1F satellite, will get the priority in the capacity using on Yamal-402, which will have wider service zone with the same power characteristics.

The Management, commercial and technical departments of GSS are ready to give all the necessary support to providers of satellite telecommunication services and solutions, TV broadcasters, DTH operators and other companies, which are interested in using ASTRA 1F and Yamal-402 satellites capacity.
