Yamal-401 satellite is carried into the GEO
December 15, 2014 at 12:17 p.m. Moscow time Yamal-401 telecommunication satellite separated from the Breeze-M upper stage on the GEO and was taken under control by Gazprom Space Systems.
The launch of Proton-M space rocket was performed by the mission team of the Russian rocket and space industry companies from the 81st launch pad of the Baikonur Cosmodrome at 03:16 a.m. Moscow time on December 15, 2014.
The Breeze-M upper stage carried Yamal-401 satellite into the GEO.
Yamal-401 was produced by ISS Reshetnev under the order of the Russian satellite operator Gazprom Space Systems.
The Proton launch vehicle and the Breeze-M upper stage are developed and series-produced by Khrunichev State Research & Production Space Center. Updated Proton-M, equipped with the Breeze-M upper stage, is able to deliver to the transfer orbit a payload with a mass more than 6 tons.
It was the 7th space launch done in 2014 by the Proton launch vehicle and the 400th in its flight history.
