Gazprom Space Systems Signed a New Contract at CommunicAsia 2011 Show

Today, when the largest Asian telecommunications show CommunicAsia was opened, Gazprom Space Systems signed a new contract with a well-known Singapore telecommunication company ST Teleport.

Today, when the largest Asian telecommunications show CommunicAsia was opened, Gazprom Space Systems signed a new contract with a well-known Singapore telecommunication company ST Teleport.

According to the contract Gazprom Space Systems will provide ST Teleport with Yamal-202 (49°E) satellite capacity.

This capacity will be used to provide telecommunication and Internet access services for sea vessels, located in the basin of the Persian Gulf. This is not the first case when Yamal-202 capacity is used to provide maritime services, including oil and gas sector on vessels and on offshore rigs.

Yamal-202 satellite with its wide coverage zone including Europe, North Africa, Middle East, South and South-East Asia, is well known on the international market. Satellite’s capacity is used to organize communication links, TV programs distribution and to provide broadband access services. 


Gazprom Space Systems is one of the two Russian national satellite operators and is part of a group of about fifty satellite operators existing in the world
