Yamal-300K satellite is put in operation in the new orbital position
After Yamal-300K relocation to 183E orbital position and testing, it was brought into commercial operation in this new position.
The satellite is controlled by the Mission Control Center in Shchelkovo (Moscow region) and the Eastern TT&C Facilities in Skvortsovo, Khabarovsk Territory. The Eastern Center, built specifically for Yamal-300K control in the new orbital slot, is located in the area of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network.
Entering into operations in this slot, Yamal-300K satellite increased significantly the geostationary arc, hosting Russian communication satellites, now becoming the most «Eastern» spacecraft of the national orbital constellation.
For information
Yamal-300K was launched two and a half years ago into 90E position. Within a short time its capacity was almost completely sold to Russian users.
After successful launch of Yamal-401 at the end of last year into the same orbital position and transfer of all clients from Yamal-300K to Yamal-401, Yamal-300K was moved into 183E.
This orbital position is located over the Pacific Ocean and helps to cover the Russian Far East, Korea, Japan and other countries of Southeast Asia and to reach the West Coast of North America.
In this new slot Yamal- 300K is interesting both to Russian and to international users.
One of the Yamal-300K beams covers the Russian Far East and draws attention of, for example, Russian mobile operators who are concerned about creation of trunk infrastructure for their mobile networks in this region.
The steerable beam of the satellite is ready to serve any region of Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand or Pacific Island Countries.
But the most attractive coverage is in the zone of the wide shaped beam over the North of the Pacific Ocean with its busy air and marine traffic and major transport hubs on the coast.
