Students of the International Space University learned about Gazprom Space Systems’ activity

On February 16th, 2016 students and lecturers of the International Space University (Strasbourg, France) visited Gazprom Space Systems’ Telecommunication Center in Shchelkovo. It was the second visit, the first one was one year ago.

On February 16th, 2016 students and lecturers of the International Space University (Strasbourg, France) visited Gazprom Space Systems’ Telecommunication Center in Shchelkovo. It was the second visit, the first one was one year ago.

The students group consisted of people from India, Australia, UK, France, Brazil, Serbia, etc. (totally from 12 countries).

The delegation learned about the company’s activity in space systems construction and operation.

The students got to know about Gazprom Space Systems’ experience in space projects implementation, about the company’s place in the Russian and international satellite telecommunications markets, its international activity, criteria of efficiency and risks of satellite operator business.

The university representatives visited Yamal satellites Mission Control center, Network Operations Center, infrastructure providing for satellite telecommunication and geoinformation services provision.

International Space University (ISU) was founded in 1987 at the initiative of several space agencies (NASA, NASDA, ESA), and also the Ministry of Secondary and Higher Education of USSR. The permanent Campus of the university with opening of Master’s programs MSS, MSM (Master of Space Studies and Master of Space Management) was established from 1994 in Strasbourg. During the education students learn about the European aerospace companies’ activities.
