Yamal-300К satellite is a middle-sized spacecraft. The payload power is 5.6 kW.
The satellite will be launched in 2012.
The satellite lifetime is 14 years.
Yamal-300К satellite will be launched to the 90°E orbital position. The satellite is fitted with a combined payload, including eight C-band 72 MHz transponders and eighteen Ku-band 72 MHz transponders. So, the total Yamal-300K capacity will be 52 equivalent 36 MHz transponders.
To operate in C-band an Rx/Tx antenna, which forms a fixed contoured beam, is installed on Yamal-300K satellite. This beam covers all the visible territory of Russia and near-by countries from the 90°E orbital position.
Ku-band antennas, installed on the satellite, form three beams: one fixed contoured beam (Northern beam 1), one fixed elliptic beam (Northern beam 2) and one steerable beam.
Northern beam 1 covers all the visible territory of Russia and near-by countries. Six transponders are to operate in this beam.
Northern beam 2 covers the European, most populated, part of Russia. Nine transponders are to operate in this beam.
The steerable beam can be moved through the commands from the earth while the satellite is in service. Three transponders will be operated in this beam.
The Yamal-300K satellite will be launched by Proton vehicle together with satellite of another operator in 2011
After Yamal-401 satellite launch to the 90°E orbital position Yamal-300K satellite will be moved to the 163.5°E orbital position.
